Speaker 1 00:00:05 Welcome to Life Talks with Steven Marshall. Speaker 2 00:00:12 Change your perspective. Change your life. Have you ever felt like things in your life are just out of control? You're not alone. Let me give you a Bible inspired key and then I'll explain it. You have immediate control over your perspective, and if you change it, you begin the process of changing your reality, your outcome, your perspective steers your life. Yes, the circumstances that appear to be a mountain in your life can be moved. Professional athletes and high achievers from every enterprise in life, practice aligning their perspective to overcome mode so that they can do just that. Overcome any obstacle. God has tools to focus your perspective so that it works for you and not against you. Yes, even while you rest, your perspective can be working for you. Proverbs four, seven says this quote, the beginning of wisdom is get wisdom. For wisdom is the principle thing. Speaker 2 00:01:10 End quote. Notice the problem is not the main thing, but rather, wisdom is the principle thing. If you're gazing at the problem constantly, then you're magnifying what you don't want and therefore making the problem. The principle thing that is your perception and your perception is your reality. God's will is to diminish and ultimately eliminate the problem. But if you have your perspective set on magnify, grow and increase the problem, it will actually get even worse. Your inverted perspective can override God's truth in your situation. Now, that's a scary thought. What a horrible way to live. That's why Jesus always preached repent. This simply means change your way of thinking. When you study the word perspective, it means the capacity to view things in their true relations or relative importance. So Jesus tells us, change that. Change how you view things and align it with a true perspective in relation to God's wisdom and not the problem. Speaker 2 00:02:16 Lifting weights can be uncomfortable, even painful, but to the person who wants muscles, their perspective is no pain, no gain. Yes, that individual sees pain as gain. Some blame God for their painful experiences in life, and so to them, God is mean. I've watched those individuals attract more and more negative experiences. On the other hand, those who believe God is love seem to mysteriously attract more and more love, joy, blessing, and happiness. It's not because one person is better than the other. No. Each of us either consciously or unconsciously set our perspective on what we consider is the principle thing. The Bible says wisdom is the principle thing, but some choose a counterfeit and then they blame God for the negative outcome. Have you ever noticed when you complain and lament about what you don't have, <laugh>, you lose what you do have? On the other hand, when you celebrate and are thankful for even the little things in life, you move forward. Speaker 2 00:03:18 It's a lesson in the law of perspective. Try this right now and do a quick evaluation of your own perspective to see what your faith is set on. Ask yourself, do I talk about the problem over and over, or do I repeat God's word and wisdom? Day after day? Ask those who know you best. You may not like the answer, but at least you have an honest starting place to begin at. When you choose your perspective, you choose your outcome. What big situation are you dealing with? What problems keep taunting you with? What are you gonna do about that? Now, what are you gonna do about this? Now, don't pray the problem. Pray the wisdom. That's why praise is so powerful. It magnifies the answer. If your problem is an unpaid bill, don't talk and talk about it. It's not the principle thing. Wisdom is God's word says, have faith and speak to the mountain. Speaker 2 00:04:10 That's Mark 1122 to 24. The word says to make your petitions and requests known to God with Thanksgiving. Philippians four, six, Thanksgiving is a spiritual magnifier. Use it, employ it for your benefit. Right now. God is giving you an opportunity to choose your outcome by choosing your perspective. Colossians three, two says, set your mind on things above you. Do it. Don't wait for God to set your perspective, because it will never happen. It's your responsibility, my responsibility. It's your privilege. Do it right now and enjoy the overcoming benefits of being God's child and seeing everything through his eyes. So let's pray the word now based on what we've learned according to Proverbs four seven, I declare that wisdom is the principle thing, the main thing in my life. So I set my mind, father God, on your wisdom and your benefits, on your word and your promises. I magnify you Lord, and ask for your help, your unfailing wisdom and your loving direction with a thankful heart for everything that you've already done and the exciting things that you're about to do. I pray all of this in the name of Jesus. Amen. Speaker 3 00:05:31 Hi, this is Pam Marshall Steven's wife. I hope this really encourages you today.
