The futility of being forever “So close but so far” is a psychological torture technique the enemy enjoys using on people. His lies forge link after link of heavy chain that hold you hopelessly on the outside, never able to come in. You can see the beautiful sights and almost smell the fresh aromas others get to enjoy, but that’s as close as you get - they’re not for you! At least that’s what you’ve been told year after year. Somehow the rejections, failures, and pain of the past has you believing “This is my lot in life - I’m just not good enough - I’ll never belong.” Lies! Lies! LIES! Because of Jesus you belong. Because of Jesus, you’ve been made (past tense) the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! (2 Corinthians 5:21).
